A Clear Alternative to Metal Braces

If you want to straighten your smile without the appearance of metal brackets and wires, clear braces at Dillehay Orthodontics could be your perfect fit!

Blend in With Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces, also known as clear or tooth-colored braces, are a great alternative to traditional braces if you want a more subtle look while you straighten your smile.

Our clear braces at Dillehay Orthodontics are less noticeable on your teeth than metal braces. They're smaller than ever and made of nearly invisible tooth-colored polycrystalline ceramic material.

Ceramic braces are perfect if you want an aesthetic treatment option but don't want the extra hassle of removable aligners and the responsibility of wear time. For added discretion, we can pair them with clear, white, or tooth-colored elastics.

Although most Witchita patients with ceramic braces love how discrete they are, some teens and adults like to use colored ligature ties, giving the braces a neon look. The colors pop off the clear brackets, creating a unique look most people haven’t seen.

The Differences Between Ceramic & Metal Braces

Metal and ceramic braces are both strong, but metal braces can tolerate more pressure. Clear braces are made from a slightly more fragile material, so we may recommend metal if you need more drastic corrections.

That being said, both braces work the same way and are equally effective in most cases.

Keeping Your Braces Clear

You’ll love to know that staining hasn’t been a problem for clear braces in quite a while, thanks to the material we use. You won't have to worry about stains as long as you maintain your oral hygiene routine.

The adhesive we use to attach your brackets and the clear elastics are prone to staining, but it won’t be too much of a problem. We’ll change your elastics at every adjustment appointment to avoid discoloration, and regular brushing will help with the glue!

Cost of Ceramic Braces

Our goal is to provide outstanding value for reasonable fees!

Treatment fees will vary depending on the complexity of your orthodontic treatment. Dr. JK Dillehay or Dr. Ken Dillehay will determine a treatment fee that fits your unique needs, and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you and your budget.

One of the most significant factors affecting the cost of your treatment is the materials used to make your braces, so ceramic brackets cost a little more than metal brackets.

We’ll factor in the work it takes to put your braces on, adjust them, and take them off into the total cost of your treatment. Placing and removing ceramic braces require more sensitive techniques and more time.

The good news is that we offer flexible payment plans and automatic bank drafts, and we will also check with your insurance company for orthodontic benefits.

Our treatment coordinators will be happy to discuss the cost with you at your first free consultation.

Best for Adults

After a thorough orthodontic evaluation with Dr. Dillehay, we can determine which treatment option will be best for you and your smile. We think ceramic braces are generally better suited to adults and older teens.

This is because ceramic brackets are more likely to break and are more expensive than metal brackets.
