It’s Thanksgiving time! Lots of us have braved the grocery stores, and are planning on prepping far into the night for tomorrow’s feast. Thanksgiving Eve – almost as little sleep as Christmas Eve! But it’s all worth it when you sit down around the table with family and friends and start passing the dishes.
Our team here at Dillehay Orthodontics love this time of year, and it’s not just because of the turkey and pumpkin pie (although we really love the turkey and pumpkin pie.) Thanksgiving gives us the opportunity to slow down a little and really take the time to focus on the things that are important to us.
We all live such busy lives these days. It often seems like we spend more time in the car than we do just about anywhere else other than school or work! With all that hustle and bustle, it can be easy to overlook all the little moments of beauty that add up to big blessings.
This year in particular has been especially difficult for a lot of us. 2016 seemed to pack a LOT of punches, and it’s not even over yet! It can be even more difficult to find the good in things when we seem to be surrounded by so much negativity everywhere we look. But it’s in times like these that it’s more important than ever to dig deep for all the good stuff that life has to offer us.
So what are we thankful for this year at Dillehay Orthodontics?
Family. Our families are the people who keep us going, through thick and thin. They’re our built-in champions and sometimes they’re the only critics we’ll listen to! We feel so fortunate to be surrounded by such loving, caring family family members in our day to day lives.
We can’t leave out our friends, who are, in essence, the family that we get to choose! Our friendships nurture and sustain us through the hard times, and cheer us on when things are going well. They make us laugh, hold us when we cry and have a knack for knowing when we need copious amounts of chocolate or a sweat-it-out session at the gym.
We’re also thankful for the usual suspects — a roof over our heads, enough food on our tables, our health. These are the kinds of things that are easy to take for granted and it’s always great to use a day like Thanksgiving to remember how lucky we are.
We especially want to focus on how grateful we are for you. Without our patients, we wouldn’t be able to wake up every day, knowing we have a job we love in a practice that creates real and positive change for people. We are forever thankful you’ve entrusted your beautiful smiles to us! It’s our hope that you feel how much you’re valued every time you walk through our door.
Wherever you’re spending Thanksgiving this year, we hope it’s a day that’s full of the warmth, laughter, and love of family and friends. Don’t forget to practice basic care practices for your braces or Invisalign over the next few days, and remember that we’re always here for you if you have a question or need any assistance.
Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!
